AUCKLAND PRIDE RESPONDS TO LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS

Auckland Pride has been closely following today’s developments regarding the case of COVID-19 in Northland’s community following their release from MIQ. We have planned extensively for multiple scenarios regarding the re-emergence of COVID-19 in the community and are ready to implement these plans whenever necessary.

We, like the rest of the country, are waiting for tomorrow’s update that will determine future Government actions including whether or not we move Alert Levels. We will continue to closely monitor any updates and be ready to change our plans accordingly.

This underpins the importance of scanning QR codes, having bluetooth tracing turned on, washing hands, and staying home if sick. As we’ve seen in this case – following this advice, especially around scanning QR codes and bluetooth tracing, enables fast and effective contact tracing that could prevent us moving levels in future.

In the meantime, Auckland Pride will continue to work with our event organisers, venues, and community to be ready to implement our Level Two Festival plans as soon as necessary. You can read more about our Alert Level Two plans on our website. We will continue to update our communities in the case of future developments.

The 2021 Auckland Pride Festival is made possible through the support of our Major Partners: Spark & Rocketwerkz, and our Government Partners: NZ Major Events, Auckland Unlimited, and Auckland Council.

The 2021 Auckland Pride Festival runs 3-28 February.
