This workshop looks at holistic ways of dealing with the mental health issues created by religion in LGBT+ people. We often end up quietly suffering, turning to addictive behaviours and, far too often, suicide becomes a viable solution.
Finding peer support and counsellors who have experienced and understand the complexity of the problems are few and far between, to say nothing of the potential ongoing expense and re-traumatisation that can often go on for months or even years.
This workshop helps to provide a core paradigm shift in how we see ourselves, our minds and our place in the universe, in a way that empowers us to find the self love and inner peace we desperately crave.
• We are not broken, and don’t need fixing
• We are love incarnate at the very foundation of our being
• It’s not our thoughts that are the problem, it’s our relationship to them
• Everything we need is already inside us
This activity is part of Proud Centres – Auckland Council initiative supporting the 2021 Auckland Pride Festival by transforming arts, community and events venues into Proud Centres and hosting a series of over 150 FREE diverse, inclusive events across Tāmaki Makaurau.
At Level 2 we will implement social distancing and compulsory tracing measures which will have the effect of restricting numbers to each event. At Level 2.5 or Higher we will move this event to be delivered online. Decisions will be made and implemented immediately on receiving the news. Festival COVID-19 Information ›
