What happens when storytellers or subjects are far from home? This panel explores the pain, perspectives and sometimes strange clarity of writers who have written about subjects while disconnected from their homelands and communities.. Historian Chris Brickell delves into the perks and perils of the tyranny of distance with a panel including Brent Coutts, author of Crossing the Lines about gay soldiers in World War II; Marolyn Krasner, American-born writer and New Zealand-based author of The Radicals; and esteemed playwright Ahi Karunaharan.
