Updates on the Status of Festival Events in Response to Alert Level Three

Auckland Pride will continue to provide daily updates on our Festival events and advise of any changes as a result of current and future COVID-19 Alert Level settings. Following yesterday’s update we have some additional changes to Festival events to announce for the current Level Three Period, and for the rest of the week.

No decisions have yet been made with regard to the Auckland Pride March and Party on the 27th of February. We will confirm a decision after tomorrow’s 4:30pm announcement around Alert Level settings, but these events can only proceed at Alert Level One.

However, we have the following updates to make for events in our Festival Programme this week:

The IMAN Ball has been postponed until further notice. The House of IMAN and Proud Centres have made this difficult decision with the safety of our communities, especially those who live out south, at the heart. The IMAN Ball would be difficult to execute in Alert Level Two, therefore we’re looking forward to seeing the extravagant IMAN Ball at the ASB Tennis Arena when we return to Alert Level One.

3×3: A spoken word showcase has moved online for its Wednesday 17th performance. They will be delivering their showcase via zoom, starting at 7pm. The zoom link can be found here.

Enby Encore has announced a new date: Wednesday 24 February. Caluzzi can host the event at Alert Level Two with social distancing requirements, as a precaution sales have been stopped, and ticket holders will be contacted directly.

The Agenda Zine Launch Party on Thursday the 18th has been postponed indefinitely, and will only be held at Alert Level One.

Atamira Dance Company’s Tōtoru has been cancelled.

GALS at the Gallery on Saturday the 20th has been postponed indefinitely, and will only be held at Alert Level One.

We’re working extensively with our event organisers to assist with the implementation of their Alert Level Plans, and we’re awaiting further guidance from the Government with regards to the rest of the week’s events. We will provide another update tomorrow, following the Government announcement.

We continue to ask that everyone follow Government advice around Alert Level Three, to stay at home, wear masks, and observe social distancing. We can stamp out COVID-19 again in our community, as we’ve done twice before.

We know that this is a stressful time for our community, artists and event organisers. OUTLine continues to provide support by calling 0800 688 5463 between 6-9pm. We will get through this together, so look after yourselves, be kind, and let’s unite against COVID-19.

Our full COVID-19 plans can be found on our website and on individual event listings.

The 2021 Auckland Pride Festival is made possible through the support of our Major Partners: Spark & Rocketwerkz, and our Government Partners: NZ Major Events, Auckland Unlimited, and Auckland Council.

The 2021 Auckland Pride Festival runs 3-28 February.
