Exhibitions from 14-17 of February have been cancelled due to Auckland moving to Alert Level Three on the 14th of February.
Ōtautahi-based Paul Johns is one of Aotearoa’s foremost artists. He has long explored gender and sexuality in his work—sometimes directly, sometimes more discreetly. BEEN HERE LONG?, his first solo exhibition in Tāmaki Makaurau for many years, brings together a selection of light-based works, paintings, and photographs produced between the late 1970s and the present day. Diverse in form and temperament, they nevertheless show a recurrent interest in questions of intimacy and belonging.
An opening event will be held on Wednesday February 10 from 6pm to 8pm. A talk with Johns and curator Francis McWhannell will take place at Visions on Saturday February 13 at 11:30am.
This event will still take place at Alert Level Two with social distancing, masks, and mass gathering restrictions. Festival COVID-19 Information ›
