Get ready for a self defence courses specifically designed for the Rainbow communities of Aotearoa New Zealand! It has been developed from Kia Haumaru (Women’s Self-Defence Network)’s over twenty years of experience bringing the self-defence kaupapa to Aotearoa. Self-defence is about disrupting violence to give yourself a chance to get away. How to disrupt violence is different for different people, depending on how you are perceived by society.
This activity is part of Proud Centres – Auckland Council initiative supporting the 2021 Auckland Pride Festival by transforming arts, community and events venues into Proud Centres and hosting a series of over 150 FREE diverse, inclusive events across Tāmaki Makaurau.
