Home can mean many things to our LGBTQIA+ communities, meanings that gathered new layers in the strange year we’ve all just experienced. Whether it is a place of comfort and belonging, a place to escape from, a real location or a state of mind, home is a concept at once alluring and elusive.
Rhion Munro hosts some of Aotearoa’s most exciting writers as they tell intimate stories of home and explore its many meanings for them. Join us for an evening where poignant observations mingle with laugh-out-loud anecdotes as the sun sets across Freyberg Square. Featuring award-winning playwright Ahi Karunaharan, acclaimed story-teller and journalist Aroha Awarau, lesbian crime-writer extraordinaire Jen Shieff, Lil O’Brien, recently published writer of wildly successful Not That I’d Kiss a Girl, and writer of the internationally acclaimed homecoming series, Rūrangi, Cole Meyers.
