A mini fest within a fest. For the short works that are being shaped, prodded, squished and stretched. Let’s put them out there, set them free and see how they fare out in the world.
This event is a follow-on from Auckland Scratch Night, which is a monthly event that gives artists the opportunity to play with and explore their ideas, no matter how small (keep an eye out for the next one!).
Scratch Fest (Pride Edition!) is a curated culmination of this – a night for some of those artists to take their work to the next step – add some zhuzh to their works in progress. And since it’s Pride, ‘zhuzh’ is the operative word.
There will be a bit of everything – poetry, music, music that is poetry, theatre, experiments, theatre experiments, dance and more. We’ll keep it short, sweet and appropriately zhuzhed.
Performances by queer artists and allies to be announced!
