The Auckland Pride Festival 2021 opens with the dawn blessing, acknowledging mana whenua and our takatāpui whānau. As the very first event of a month-long programme, Tuwheratanga offers a chance to open the space for the Festival, to take stock and reflect back on our shared history, those who have carved a path for our community, and to pay tribute to the pioneers of the queer liberation movement in Aotearoa.
Tuwheratanga aims to be accessible for all, and will ensure that those with access requirements can join us at the summit of Maungawhau. Anyone with specific access requirements are encouraged to get in contact so that we can accommodate them.
At Alert Level Two, Tuwheratanga will still go ahead with masks and social distancing required. At Alert Level Three or higher this event will be held online. Festival COVID-19 Information ›
